Having the right DIY wedding flower tools and supplies is key. You wouldn’t attempt a new recipe without having the proper ingredients, utensils or cookware — the same goes for flowers! You want to make sure that you have everything you need to make beautiful arrangements that will both look fabulous in your wedding photos, and keep looking great throughout your event.

1. Buckets:Probably one of the most important things to have when creating your own flowers, is a place to put them! Make sure you have plenty of clean buckets to hydrate your flowers in when they arrive, you don’t want to crowd them.
2. Floral Scissors:When you use regular scissors to cut stems, you run the risk of crushing the stem and affecting the amount of water that’s pulled up the stem and into the bloom. Floral Scissors have ridged edges to cut through stems without crushing them!
3. Bunch Cutters:This tool is perfect for cutting multiple stems at once, and because a bunch cutter has thicker, sharper blades, it can cut through the flowers and greens that have woodier stems.
4. Paring Knife:If you feel more comfortable using a knife than scissors, this paring knife will result in an even sharper, cleaner cut for your stems! It can also be used along the side of the stems to remove small thorns.
5. Thorn Stripper:The prettier the flower, the sharper the thorns! The last thing you want is to hurt your hands while holding the bouquet! This thorn stripper safely removes all the thorns in one seamless pull, just pinch it around the stem and drag down.
6. Floral Wire:This is a must-have for wrapping your stems together, you can also use floral wire to create a stem for smaller items like succulents, or to reinforce the stems of floppy flowers like daisies or ranunculus.
7. Floral Tape:Regular tape won’t hold up against wet flowers, which is why you’re going to want to use floral tape which adheres to itself, to wrap bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages.
8. Floral Foam:This is a must for any centerpieces you don’t want to directly pour water in! Let your floral foam absorb as much water as possible to ensure it can keep your flowers hydrated throughout your event, it also helps create structure and keep blooms in place.
9. Water Tubes:Planning on adding a few flowers to your garland? These little water tubes are perfect for keeping individual stems hydrated, especially for outdoor events.
10. Floral Adhesive:You’ll need floral adhesive for more delicate arrangements, like gluing smaller blooms to a corsage or keeping your decorative ribbon in place around a boutonniere.
11. Flower Food:While not absolutely essential, floral food definitely gives your flowers that extra oomph! Scoop some Aquaplus Powder into the water while your flowers are hydrating to reduce bacteria and keep the water clean, this can extend their vase life and improve appearance.
12. Finishing Spray:This solution is the perfect final touch for your flowers and greenery. Spray some Crowning Glory Clear Solution onto your finished arrangements to lock in moisture and give them a nice finished sheen.
